Introduction Shanghai University is one of the universities in China who earlier started the professional education on Management Science and Engineering (MS&E). She was authorized to provide the master degree and the doctoral degree on MS&E under the first level discipline in 1990 and 2006 respectively, and was identified to found the postdoctoral research station on MS&E in 2012. MS&E is one of the key disciplines in the development plan of “211 Project” in Shanghai University. The station has 22 doctoral candidate supervisors, and the school of management has 25 professors and 43 associate professors. The academic leaders on MS&E are Prof. Renhuai LIU known as an academician of China National Engineering Research Institute, Prof. Jianxin YOU and Prof. Lu ZHEN. We own more than ten research centers, such as Quality Management & Innovation，City Public Safety & Risk Control, Modern Logistics Research, Global Innovation and Chinese Entrepreneurship, and so on, which are supported by the research grants from National Nature Science/Social Foundation of Chinese, the state / local governments and industrial fields. The average funding is about 10 million yuan per year. Several hundred papers have been published on the international or national reputed conferences or journals during the last three years. Over 20 research prizes have been awarded to the faculty numbers, i.e., Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences in Chinese Universities, Outstanding Contribution Award in Science and Technology Law Studies in China, Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Science in Shanghai, Research Achievement Award in Decision and Consultant in Shanghai, Shanghai City Prize for Progress in Science and Technology, etc. We have developed extensive collaborations with many famous international universities and institutes from USA, Europe, Japan, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan and so on. The cross disciplinary research works have been emphasized and encouraged.
